WHY IS BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHY SO EXPENSIVE? | Clarksville TN Boudoir

I recently did a little video on Instagram explaining why boudoir photography is an investment. It was such a hit! It seems a lot of people didn’t realize what truly went into what I do. So I decided to write a blog all about it! Enjoy…

When people inquire for my Boudoir photography pricing, and I tell them. They first say things like:

“You charge how much? That has to be a mistake.”

“That's insane, there is no possible way I can afford that.”

I realize to most people, they only see photography as an easy thing to do…

“Just holding a camera, and clicking a button”;

but… the truth is it’s not even close to being that simple….

01| There is a lot of time involved in boudoir photography.
my session alone , are 2.5 hours long. Adding up the time before your shoot, prepping and planning your session. Answering emails and calls, having constant communication with my clients to make them feel super prepared for their shoot. Also the time after your session, I spend meticulously retouching your images and designing albums, Ordering and packaging products and more.

02| the amenities I offer aren’t free. You know the professional hair and makeup that is including with all sessions , is free to my clients . But I have to pay the stylist for that experience. The client closet that is free to pull from and wear wardrobe for your session! I also have to pay for that, I’ve poured 100s into my client closet as well as my studio . And the different sets I offer ! Yes this boudoir photography experience is badass but it does come with a price.

03| photography equipment and the programs I use are expensive. I’ve spent a thousands of dollars in equipment and programs I need to actually do photography. My camera body alone was around 1900$ that isn’t including the lenses and lighting kits I need. Photography is expensive girl!

04| I run a legal photography business. And that cost money to do. I pay multiple types of taxes, federal, state , city and county to name a few. Add insurance and other fees I have to pay to keep my business open and running. A photographer that is charging little to nothing for a full boudoir shoot , is not running a legal business girl! I would love to offer 200$ sessions but I wouldn’t be able to run a business like that.

05| boudoir photography is the most intimate type of photography you can invest in! My clients come to me with years of built up insecurities and body image issues and It’s my responsibility to make them feel comfortable during their session , to make them feel comfortable half naked! It’s my responsibility to nurture their self esteem and lift them up with this experience. Why would you want to pay 200? To a inexperienced photographer and risk your self esteem getting lower or your image of yourself to get worse from an experience that’s supposed to lift you up. Trust me boudoir photography is the one type of photography that you NEED your photographer to know their shit!

06| You’re paying for my talent and years of experience! Yes, I said it! I am worth the investment. I’ve spent over seven year honing my craft , leading and bettering my work and knowledge on the art of boudoir photography. Like I mentioned in reason number 5, you want an experienced photographer for boudoir and when you choose my studio that’s what you’ll get! I’ve worked with hundreds of women , of all shapes and sizes and my work shoes that. I have dedicated my life to helping women see how beautiful they are through my art. My goal is to empower every women to be her authentic self , to feel confident in their own skin and give them the ability to love who they see in the mirror. Remember any photographer can make you look great , but here, in my studio I strive to make you feel beautiful, so you will leave your session with an entirely different view about yourself! And that investment is worth it.
